Lumpsum Calculator

Use this free lumpsum calculator to estimate how a one-time investment could grow over the years. Enter the amount you plan to invest, an expected yearly return and the number of years. The calculator shows an illustrative result with a year-by-year breakdown.
How this lumpsum calculator works
The calculator assumes you invest the full amount once, today, and leave it untouched. The money grows at the yearly return you enter, compounded once a year. For example, ₹5,00,000 growing at 12% a year becomes about ₹15.53 lakh after 10 years. The result is an illustration, not a forecast. Actual mutual fund returns change with the market, and nobody can guarantee them.
What this calculator does not include
The result is before taxes, exit loads and fund expenses, so what you actually receive may be lower. It also does not allow for inflation, and it does not show the ups and downs along the way. Real investments rarely grow in a straight line.
Frequently asked questions
What is a lumpsum investment?
A lumpsum investment means putting a larger amount into a mutual fund in one go, instead of investing a smaller amount every month. It is often used when someone receives a bonus, a maturity payout or sale proceeds.
Is lumpsum better than SIP?
Neither is better for everyone. A lumpsum puts all your money to work at once, but the market may be high or low on the day you invest. A SIP spreads your entry over many months, which can make the journey smoother. The right choice depends on your cash flow, your time horizon and how you handle market ups and downs. We would be happy to talk it through with you.
What if I want to invest every month instead?
Try our SIP calculator or our Step up SIP calculator.
Is the return shown guaranteed?
No. Mutual fund returns are market-linked and can be higher or lower than the rate you enter. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme related documents carefully. Learn more on the AMFI investor awareness site.
